I know what basic features that I require in a product and I am ample good about researching & finding them for the best value. My daughter insisted that he wanted a lightweight, sleek, fast-running dependable laptop on which he could surf the web, games, & download music, do his homework, IM, email and take notes.
I insisted that while I was willing to assist him this request, I could not support spending more than a couple hundred dollars (or less hopefully) on a laptop that he might fail or break in no time at all. After exhausting hours researching cheap reliable laptop & notebook computers on the web, what I grew up with was the Dell Latitude C610 model. We both can agree on that model because it satisfied both of our needs.
The Latitude C610 is very lightweight, sleek and the battery last a huge full four & one-half (4 1/2) hours on one charge. (Even my new, expensive laptop can't compare there). The Latitude has an Intel Pentium III processor. This makes it a pretty quick machine. The keyboard is roomy but very smooth. The unit involves both a pointing stick and a touchpad, which is pretty rare in this class of computer. That tiny laptop surfs the web very immediately & doesn't get bogged down or slow even though he downloads tons of music & games on it. It has a CD drive for his plays also.
The best part about the laptop to me was that it's well. I got a model with a few extras values. It's a really nice laptop which I often use on business trips because it is so compact. My daughter believes it's the bomb and doesn't prefer the lend it out.
If you're viewing for a loaded, working but the cheap laptop for a college student, kid, or business trips on which you can work, video, & download music surf the web, IM, play games, & email give the Dell Latitude C610 a look. You may agree with us and be glad you did.
